Into a magical world where the air you breathe truly is clean. You're standing in the middle of an old mansion yard and talking to an entrepreneurial couple. You wonder how there still is a place in the modern world that takes you back almost 100 years. You can't help but to wonder the kind of life lived at the time when these buildings were built. The Vanha Maamies has had variable uses during its' many years. Since 1924 the estate was used as a school for the landlords and farmers; The Maamies School. Later, the estate was used as a military hospital during the Winter War and Continuation War. According to the legend, many romances have been created by the estate of Vanha Maamies. It is no wonder, as a country-romantic setting is a perfect place for the first steps on the path of love. The Vanha Maamies is also an ideal venue for organising wedding parties; different sized ballrooms and catering options as well as accommodation for the wedding guests with beach saunas create the perfect setting for an unforgettable day or even a weekend. After many phases, the area nowadays allows for the organising of variety of events. Comprehensive accommodation allows the facilities for large camps and conferences. The hostel accommodation on the other hand is perfect for individual travellers. Our restaurant offers a healthy, local-made meals and the beach sauna cleanses both your body and your mind. In addition to the accommodation, we offer a variety of services from pony riding to banqueting service as well as organising various small events and longer retreats.
